2008 KCSE best student in NEP
AHMED MUHUMED KASAY The best student for the whole of North Eastern Province did his primary schooling at Boystown School in the years 1997/2004 and attained 341 marks out of 500 in KCPE, he got an admission from Garissa high school.
Hailing from a poor family, Ahmed said “form one was the toughest year for me, due to financial constraints i struggled to stay put and pursue my education”
A region engulfed by an unemployment Ahmed said “the only source of income for the family was his father, a broker in Garissa livestock market who only works on Wednesdays’ and mother is a milk seller, and joining high school was the biggest challenge, raising the initial tuition fees and money for other requirements like boarding fees was an uphill task. I was two weeks late for form one reporting deadline.
Thanking the then Principal Mr, Mohamed Ibrahim Abdullahi for his noble idea of helping poor students, the boy said “ I was one of the luckiest students whose parents were told to fence the school and their wages paid as fees. Another worthy to be mentioned is 5000 shilling I received from Dujis CDF”.
Alhamdulilah, as from form two, I got a scholarship from Universal Education Trust Fund based in Mombasa Kenya who sponsored him till completion.
His best subjects were sciences Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Maths which he all got A. other subjects are IRE A, History A- ,Eng B , Kisw B+.
Ahmed says he wants to do medicine and surgery so he could address the health problems faced by his community.
